Happy Second Birthday, Baker!

Baker turned two last Sunday, which is still so hard to believe. My littlest baby is 2! Time flies so fast. We started the weekend by having a birthday brunch for him-he loves donuts (or as he calls them "nonos"), so a breakfast party was right up his alley! And, I didn't have to make a ton of food or worry about a cake-donuts are sweet enough!

the donut cakes turned out great!

simple but so good!

my mom got the best shot of him blowing out his candles (and I know he needs a haircut-he got one this week)

His actual birthday was pretty low key. I worked all weekend, so the boys went to church as usual while I slept, and we opened presents when the birthday boy (and me) got up from naps.
cheesin' so hard!

he picked out his own outfit for church but wasn't happy that I put him down so I could take his picture

The past two years have flown by for us! Baker is such a joy and his brothers adore him-they argue over who gets to get him out of his crib in the morning or at nap time. He is the biggest mama's boy I have ever had, and if I'm around, then I have to do everything. Unless YaYa is there-then he's usually all about her. He's an excellent sleeper and napper, but wakes up pretty easily when things get noisy (so when his brothers wake up, so does he, because they don't know the meaning of silence).

He's strong willed and opinionated about everything! He loves to read and play with cars, just like his big brothers. His vocabulary is through the roof and he talks all.the.time. He is a fairly good eater, and he still nurses. He asks "Feed you now?" when he wants to nurse, and it is so sweet. Unless he's asking all the time, and then it's not. He has his nighttime routine, and that usually includes laying his his brothers' beds, then kissing everyone goodnight, including the dog. He is so sweet and loving, and he lights up our lives!

Favorite words that he says: "Penty" (Penny the dog), "CoCo" (Cohen), "RiRi" (Rilynn), "Sasher" (Asher), "Fisser" (Fisher), "Brother" (Sullivan), "I do it", "mine", "choo train" (choo choo)-really everything he says is the cutest!

Happy 6th Birthday, Fisher!

Fisher turned 6 (cue all the tears) in June. I can't believe that I have a six year old! We had a great day celebrating him, and he planned his entire day and celebration! We decided not to have a party this year, and instead he chose to do dinner, dessert, and fun at YaYa and Pops' house.

We went out for a special day with Daddy the week before to celebrate Fisher's birthday because he was off work, but we were also able to celebrate all day long on his actual birthday!

Birthday morning! He woke up to balloons (he was very specific about the balloons he wanted, down to the color), and a breakfast request of cinnamon rolls.
he's 6!

We went to VBS in the morning, and in the afternoon we headed to YaYa's for a birthday lunch (he chose Wendy's), playtime, and a popsicle dessert.

cheese!
Then, Fisher was able to have a birthday surprise! Pops had been out of town for work, and flew back home on the FedEx corporate jet. YaYa was able to take the big boys to watch him fly in, and they got to explore the plane! Fisher even got to take a turn in the cockpit.
they were so excited!

That night, we had a birthday dinner of sprinkle pancakes, per request, and then Fisher opened his presents.

presents! Fisher was most excited about his watch, and he also is getting to sign up for karate lessons
The next night, we had our family celebration at YaYa's. He requested tacos for dinner, and that Aunt Jodie make his birthday cake.

YaYa and Pops got him a new bike! Since he's mastered riding without training wheels, and has had his other bike for a few years, he was due for an upgrade.

last set of candles!
He also chose to have a T Rex pinata. Y'all-I could not have chosen a more pathetic pinata. It looked much better online, I promise! But, Fisher said it was ok and they enjoyed beating it up!

Aunt Brette and Uncle Jacob got him a Snap Circuit set for his birthday, and the boys have loved it! It has been so much fun watching them build things and learn about electrical currents!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our biggest boy! He is smart and so inquisitive, and is extremely strong willed. We struggle with obedience a lot, but he has a sweet heart and loves to build, read, and explore. We are so thankful for these years with him!

Fisher is 5!

Fisher tuned 5 a few weeks ago! I will admit, I cried about it several times. I always love every single age that my boys are, but that doesn't stop me from mourning the stage that's passed. We had a wonderful time on his birthday! He has been so very excited about turning 5. We made a countdown the week before, and he wanted to cross a day off every morning.

One last rock and snuggle before going to bed as a 4 year old for the last time

He's 5!

after swimming, he wanted Chick fil a for lunch.
After naps (which were much appreciated), we had Fisher's birthday party. He chose a camping adventure party, which was so much fun! We roasted smores (with a heat index of 115), and ate campfire food! He had so much fun at his party!
one more "I'm 5" picture in his birthday shirt. He looks so big here, but he's still my small guy!

I kept the decor simple. I borrowed most of it from one of my good friends.

we had hot dogs and brats, corn on the cob, baked beans, fruit, and yogurt

he loved his cupcake!

I took a burlap banner and added "Camp Fisher" on it with washi tape. The tape will peel off and I can reuse the banner!

We are so very blessed to call Fisher ours! I can't believe my oldest is 5! He's stubborn and strong willed (family trait!), and is not a fan of doing things that he doesn't want to do. He loves having long hair, and refuses to cut it (which I don't mind at all). He's my only blue eyed boy, although he likes to tell me his eyes are turning green, because "blue and yellow make green, and my eyes are turning green". He's still a great napper (thank you, Jesus), and wakes up ridiculously early ("I'm an early bird, Mommy"). He still sucks his thumb and has to have his giraffe lullies.

He loves to snuggle with me, and he's great at playing independently. He loves to "read" and be read to, and he has a wonderful imagination! He says Asher and Sullivan are his best friends, and they play so well together (sometimes!). He loves being outside, but would sit in front if the TV all day if I would let him. He's constantly learning, and loves to tell me facts about things that I had no idea he knew anything about. Although he's not quite ready for kindergarten and won't go until next year, he's matured so much in the past year. He loves his brothers, but he and Sullivan fight like crazy. As much as he tries my patience most days, he's quick to forgive when I get mad.

I can't imagine life without Fisher! These past 5 years have flown by, and I can't wait to watch him grow and see how God will use him in the coming years. We love you big!
