Fisher is 9 Months Old!

*Fisher weighs  18 pounds 4 oz (25th percentile). He is 28 inches long ( 50th percentile) and his head circumference is 17.5 inches (25-50th percentile).

*He wears cloth diapers (he was in disposables for a few weeks after surgery, and those were either size 2 or 3)  and 3-6 or 6-9/6-12 month outfits, depending on the brand.

*He is SO close to crawling! He will get up on all fours and rock, but then just stretch out to get what it is that he wants. He can still get around really well, though! He will scoot on his butt or, if he's on his stomach, he'll somehow work himself backwards and end up under the couch or somewhere fun!

* He LOVES to eat! He loves everything that he eats! We're starting to transition to "real" food. So far, he's tried a grilled cheese and steak. He enjoyed them. :). He usally eats food (like avocado or bananas) 2-3 times a day.

*He still loves to be outside. We try to go on wagon rides as often as we can. We also got a ride behind thing (I have no idea what it's really called) that attaches to the bicycle, and he's ridden in that once.

*He's sleeping in his bed every night. He is FINALLY taking naps in his bed! It only took 8 months. Previously, he would have to be laying on me the entire time. Now, he's able to either be put in his crib already asleep or he will be able to fall asleep in his crib on his own. Sometimes his naps only last 30 minutes, but it's a huge improvement for us! He is moving every which way in his crib. He finally turned over to his stomach in his crib for the first time this week. He will flop his leg up on the bumper, will wedge his head in the corner, or will be turned completely horizontal. It is so much fun to watch him on the baby monitor!

*Breastfeeding about every 3 hours (when he takes a bottle, it's usually 6-9 ounces).  He's been sick for a few weeks, so he's been waking up and nursing 1-2 times a night. He sleeps in until 9-10 most mornings.

*He's talking! He says "DaDa" and "MaMa". DaDa is still his main word. He is also saying lots of other stuff, but it's in his own language. :)

* He loves to clap and pay Patty Cake. He will lift up his arms if he wants to be picked up. He is also giving a hi five and is almost waving. He will put his hands out, palms up, and "wave" to himself or the dogs.

*He loves to play in the floor with his toys. His favorite toy at home is his ring stacker. His favorite toy at his Yaya's is a red plastic spoon. His other favorite "toy" is the dogs. He is always looking at them wanting to see what they're doing and where they are. This is not fun at mealtimes when I'm trying to get him to eat, but is really cute the rest of the time. Lenny still only tolerates him, but Duchess loves Fisher! She will try to lick his face (so gross. We try to avoid that!), and is so good about letting him grab her tail and ears.

*He is giving "kisses" now. He gives great big open mouth slobbery kisses. He'll sometimes do it when you ask him to, but mostly it's just because he feels like it. :)

*He is very attached to his lovie (the giraffe in the pictures above). He drapes it over his face when he sleeps, chews on its head, and talks to it. He now wants to have it when he's not in his crib.

*He has really gotten back into sucking his thumb. His left thumb is his favorite. He's been sucking it so much lately that he's starting to get a little red mark/sore on it.

*Loves bath time and loves to kick and splash. He also loves taking a shower now, too.

* He has eight teeth! He has four on the bottom and four on the top. He got three of his top teeth all in the past week.

*Nicknames:  Budders, Fish, Fisher-man, Fishy, Tooters, Bubba (I have no idea where this came from. It just slips out sometimes!).

Happy 9 months Fisher!!!
