Baby, Baby, Baby

More baby updates! Sorry if you're getting sick of them, but if I don't write it down, I won't remember. Friday, I had my 25 week checkup and fasting glucose test to determine if I have gestational diabetes. My mom went with me since Nellie wasn't  able to go. For your glucose test, you have to drink this super sweet syrupy drink. I wanted to vomit when I was drinking it! It tasted like cough syrup, which makes me gag every single time I have to take it. The nurse kept checking on me to see if I was done with the drink. Needless to say, it took me a while to get it down!

Then, we got to see the doctor. The baby wouldn't be still long enough for her to get a good reading on the heart rate for a while! She finally got a good reading though, but I don't know what the heart rate was. Then, she check my cervix, which is still closed-YAY! And then, I had to wait an hour to get my blood drawn. So, a pretty long appointment after having worked all night and not eating anything. I was so hungry!! Where did I stop and get breakfast?? Only the best place eeeeevvvvvvvveeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr!!!
So worth the wait!
You might remember that I posted a while back about our crib that we got. Well, the color wasn't exactly right and the more I looked at it, the more I knew that's not what I wanted. So, I kept searching for a new one, much to Nellie's dismay. He claims I have a problem picking something and liking it, but I think it's important that I really, really like the bed all of our children are going to use! :) So, after a lot of looking, I finally found it!! The crib got here Friday, and we (mostly Nellie) put it together yesterday. I love, love, love it!!
Old crib...not a fan

Looking good!

He was so annoyed with me at this point for taking pictures

TaDa! Absolutely beautiful!!

Proof that I was there!
Since I am finally excited about our crib, I really can't wait to start on the rest of the room! Hopefully we'll have paint colors picked out this week, and my grandmother can start on the bedding soon since all the fabric is in. Everything is moving right along, and time is flying by! It's so exciting!!

Weekend Recap

What a weekend!! I was actually off all weekend, which hasn't happened in too long. I enjoyed it to the fullest! My 25th birthday was Thursday, and it was a great day. I got to eat doughnuts for breakfast, sleep in, read, watch TV, paint my nails, eat a yummy dinner, and...go to work. Not so much fun, but it wasn't terrible at work. My sweet friend brought me a Muddy's cupcake, which made up for having to work. My awesome husband got me the NookColor for my birthday gift. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! It is wonderful! I will definately have to pace myself when it comes to buying books. I've already been informed that I have a slight problem...
Yay for birthday presents!
And yay for Muddys! My cupcake was the Grasshopper-chocolate cake with mint icing. YUM!
I couldn't eat anything after midnight on my birthday, because I had my glucose test for gestational diabetes the next day (different post). So, I was able to get a few hours of sleep after my doctor's appointment on Friday, and then it was off to see Madagascar Live at the Orpheum with the family. Good time with the family, but it was an awful show! We knew it would be geared towards kids, but I don't think even a kid would have liked it. Not to mention the children and the parents sitting behind us were not very well behaved...grr...oh well-it was fun to laugh! After the show we walked to the Flying Fish to eat dinner.
Do yourself a favor...don't go see it.

The only picture I managed to get all night-me and my sweet sister, Jamie.
On Saturday, we had a party to go to! It was my cousin Noah's first birthday party. He was born the day after me, March 25th. It was a lot of fun!
Yummy cupcakes!

The sweet birthday boy!

Me and the hubs

I got my own special cupcake because we joked that it was my birthday party, too. How sweet!

He loved eating all that icing!
Nellie and I finished up our Saturday with a little maternity clothes shopping (fun, right??) at the Gap in Collierville, and we also stopped by itty bitty bella and Bella Vita. I officially want everything in both of those stores! It was an early night for us since we were both feeling sleep deprived. All in all, a wonderful Saturday!

Everything a Baby Could Want

Can I just say, babies need a lot of stuff!! I had no idea that registering for a new baby would be so hard! The amount of supplies, clothes, products, toys, and well, junk, a new baby needs is mind boggling! Whew!! I started registering online for a lot of the big items we need-stroller, car seat, etc. Yesterday, my cousin Holly, who is much more of a baby expert than me, was sweet enough to go with me to Target and Babies R Us to finish up my registry. And, I think I actually managed to register for everything on my list! Ok, I have a few items to review and then I'll be finished! And I was exhausted just thinking about all the things the baby has to have-well, the things I think he/she will have to have! ha I'm definately glad that this huge hurdle is out of the way and now we get to enjoy getting all of these things!! And, then the thank you notes begin...

Product Endorsement

There aren't many products that I will just rave about, but I found one that's worth mentioning!! My back has been absolutely killing me when I wake up. Our mattress is normally very comfortable for me, so I'm assuming that it's my changing body, sleep style, etc. Regardless-I am in pain and have to hobble around like an old woman until all the kinks are worked out. Add that to having to get up 3-4 times a night to go to the bathroom...well, you can imagine all the fun I've been having! :)

I mentioned my back pain to my mom, and wouldn't you know it-she got me a happy. She's so nice like that! :)Actually, I guess it's only fair that she got me this, since everyone else in my family has already gotten one! ha Anywho, she got me (us) the Novaform Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper. Can I just say-phenomenal. I am loving sleeping now!! And, no back pain!! :) She got it at our trusty Costco-I mean, what's not to love about Costco?! They have everything you could ever want-56 count rolls of tiolet paper, shampoo that comes in a 5 gallon bucket...Ok, so maybe I'm slightly exaggerating, but I'm not that far off. Check this product out-you won't be disappointed!!

P.S. Any chance you think someone important will see that and want to pay me for such a glowing product endorsement?? Yeah, I didn't think so either. Guess I'm keeping my day job...

Go buy this. Today. Also available at costco.com!
Oh, and we got some new sheets to go along with our new topper! It's like sleeping in a new bed every night-fabulous! Also from Costco (like I said, they have everything), these sheets are 400 thread count Egyptian cotton. They are so silky....like sleeping on a cloud. Ohhhh, I am making myself sleepy!! Get those too when you're at Costco next time!!

We did NOT get white sheets. Can you imagine??! Our color is called raw sugar, but it's completely gray. Try them. NOW!!
