Meeting Gama

This past weekend Fisher got to meet his Gama (Nellie's mom) for the first time. She lives out of town, and was just able to meet Fisher. We had a great weekend! Fisher showed Gama all of his tricks, and splashed around in his bathtub for her. :) We're so glad that Gama got to meet Fisher and spend some time with him. We love you Gama!!

Attention, Attention

Breaking news...

Today is my half birthday! Woohoo!!

That's it. You can now return to your normal life. And for those of you who feel that celebrating half birthdays are ridiculous (my husband included), here's a little funny for you.

It's Fall, Y'all!!

My favorite season is finally here!! I love everything about fall-the weather, the changing leaves, the holidays. And football is here, although I could take that or leave it, much to my husband's dismay. :) We've had a gorgeous day today to kick off this fall season, and I'm praying the weather continues to be beautiful for many weeks to come. Happy Fall!!

beautiful!
And my favorite drink-caramel apple cider. Yum!!

Daddy's New Toy

BP (before parenthood), a new toy might have been a bat, TV, or some other really cool electronic device. Now that we have Fisher, a new toy looks something like this:

Behold, the Baby Bjorn! Nellie was so excited to get this! Our neighbors were cleaning out some stuff and ended up giving it to us. We've been wanting one but didn't feel like spending the money on it. Problem solved. Hubs wore Fisher for a little while this morning, and I think they were both satisfied with how it worked. And they both look so cute :)

Ok, I'm in this thing, now where are we going??!

Church Pictures

We took our family pictures Friday night for the church directory. Fisher wore an outfit that my brother wore over 22 years ago! He looked really cute (of course). Mom and Dad, we looked ok. Here's a sneak peek of Mr. Man :)

Fisher and Brantley

Fisher finally got to meet his buddy Brantley! Bridget and I have been friends forever, and she welcomed her third (!) boy on July 19. Brantley spent the first two weeks of his life in the NICU due to a tear in his lung, but God healed him and he has been full steam ahead ever since!! We had a great time with Bridget, Colton, and Brantley, and can't wait for these boys to have another play date!!

Colton wanted to be in on the photo shoot, too :)

Happy Grandparents Day!!

Sunday was Grandparents Day. Since Fisher (and his parents) are so thankful for his grandparents, we had to make a little craft to show them our appreciation. I found the idea on Pinterest and tweaked it a little.

Original idea...
 Our version...

Fisher's footprints in the shape of a heart and placed in a picture frame! The original version the person made in photoshop and then stitched a heart around it, etc. Well, we don't have time for all of that. So, I like our version! :) We hope Fisher's Yaya and Pops and Gama know how much we appreciate and love them!!

Happy Grandparents Day!!

Happy First Birthday, Rex!

Yesterday Fisher's cousin Rex celebrated his first birthday. Hubs and Fisher were able to go to his birthday party, but Momma was attempting to sleep in preparation for work. We are so thankful that Fisher and Rex are so close in age and that they will have the chance to grow up together. Happy Birthday, Rex! We love you!!

Our Week

On Labor Day, Fisher did some laboring. :) He rolled over for his mommy and daddy! We were so excited to get to see him roll over! Since then, he's rolled over two more time. We were able to capture it on video, too. Our child is so advanced :)

Mom! Get that thing out of my face!!

My little monkey man :)
Tuesday through Thursday, I had clinical and Fisher hung out with Daddy and Yaya. Friday, Fisher and I went to a consignment sale to do a little shopping, and then we met Auntie Loo for lunch.
She's enjoying her last few weeks of vacation before she starts her big girl job as a physical therapist. We're so proud! :) Then, we met Yaya and Aunt Jamie to do a little bit of shopping in Arlington. Saturday, Fisher and I went to a baby shower, then we met Dad at a friend's house for a get together with our Sunday School class. Then, I got to go to work while Fisher and Daddy spent some quality father-son time together!

It was a great week!

I was a sophmore in high school. It was between second and third period (study hall and English class) when I first started hearing about planes hitting the World Trade Center in New York. When we got to English class I remember watching the situation as it unfolded. i just remember feeling so scared and helpless-this wasn't supposed to happen in America. Terrorist attacks only happened to other countries.

It's so hard to believe that it's been 10 years-10 years of fighting and remembering. I'm still praying that we all appreciate the sacrifices made and the lives lost, not only on September 11, 2001, but every day since then.

I'm so much more appreciative of my freedom now more than ever before!

Talented, I am Not...

I don't have any talent when it comes to being crafty. However, I am so thankful to have friends that are! Courtney has a great talent for being crafty; one of her talents is making blocks for babies. They are sooo cute! Fisher got some today and we are loving them! Thanks Courtney!! I can't wait to put these in his room!

Your Great Name

My new favorite song right now is by Natalie Grant. It's called "Your Great Name". So powerful! LOVE the message in this song! Listen to it-you'll be blessed! :)

What's in A Name??

Lots of people are interested in how we came up with Fisher's name, so I thought I'd share it with you. So thoughtful of me :). First of all, it took us FOREVER to come up with a name for him. We could not agree on anything-I would say a name, and Hubs wouldn't like it, so I would put it out of my mind. Then, a few days later he would say that maybe he liked it, but I had already moved on to something else! Talk about frustrating for both of us!!

We were 30 something weeks into our pregnancy, and knew we needed to come up with a name! I was on Facebook one night at work (shhh! don't tell) and saw someone's name (no idea who he is)-his last name was Fisher. I immediately loved it and thought it would make a great first name. I came home and presented it-Nellie didn't like it. But, he said to give him a few days to think about it. In the end, he ended up loving it as much as I did!

Reasons why we picked Fisher:
1. We wanted a name that was different. Not weird, but different. I don't want my child to be the fourth kid in his class with the same name.
2. It's Biblical. In Matthew, Jesus talks about making his disciples fishers of men. I love that Fisher's name can be connected back to that and serve as a reminder of winning others for Christ.

Now, on to his middle name.
Reasons why we picked David:
1. It's my dad's first name, and it was his dad's name. Although my dad doesn't go by David, it's still special to us.
2. Again, it's Biblical. David was a man after God's own heart. Was he perfect? No! He committed murder. However, his story is incredible-he defeated a giant with a slingshot, and, although he did many wrong things, he loved God. It's a great example of God's provision and His love for us no matter what.
3. It means "beloved". I just love the thought of being one of God's beloved children and being reminded of it on a daily basis!

We just love our Fisher David!!
And now that Fisher's here, we couldn't imagine him being anyone other than Fisher. We feel like it suits him perfectly! We love our little man!! :)

Fisher and Elizabeth-Week 11

The weeks are flying by, and these babies are getting bigger and cuter! Fisher weighed 11 lbs 8 oz at his two month appointment, and Ms. Elizabeth weighed in at 11 lbs 4 oz. Fisher weighed almost 3 lbs less than her when they were born, and now he outweighs her!! He's being so nice, letting his girl cousin feel so small and dainty around him. :) My mom snapped this picture of them today at lunch. How cute are they?!

Just Because

More cute pictures of Fisher!

He was so tired after a day at Yayas!
hey Mom!!
Sleeping so good!

Wearing his Fisher onsie that his Aunt Janet got for him!

Finger Lickin' Good

Fisher has discovered his fingers and hands. It is so cute to watch him concentrate on getting them in his mouth and sucking on them. He's getting pretty good at it, too! :)

We Have a Roller

Fisher rolled over on Thursday!! What a big boy! :) Of course, no one saw it, and he hasn't done it since. He's refusing to show off for me. I put him on his mat this morning to see if he would do it again, and he fell asleep instead! Little stinker!

sleeping. So cute, even if he's not showing me his new trick!

First Boo Boo

Caused by me! Horrible mother :( I was clipping Fisher's fingernails, which is hard enough already because his nails are so small and the clippers are so small...Anyways, you can guess what happened. I clipped a big chunk of skin on his thumb. He was so upset! And I was too. I felt (and still feel) horrible!! He had to get a bandaid and everything. We had to make him one since we don't have any small enough for him. Of course, he wasn't upset for long, but I still feel bad!

see?! Pitiful! :(

Photo Randoms

I was cleaning off my memory card and found some pictures that were too cute not to share. Of course, aren't they all!? :)

Fishy Fishy

Fisher got the cutest outfit from some of my friends at work. He just now is able to fit in it, and it is so cute! Of course, it is fitting that it has adorable little fish on it. :) We had to have a little photo shoot :)
