Baker Has Surgery and Other Pictures

this little bit had outpatient urology surgery (hypospadias repair) last week. he did great! we had a few rough days with pain control, but he is on the mend now!

prior to surgery

leaving the Bunny Tunnel and headed back to get his IV and start surgery. My very favorite anesthesiologist, Dr. K., was there, and that just made my day!

post surgery snuggles and nursing.

poor buddy.

how we do life these days. lots of undies (joys of potty training) and lots of helmet wearing and bike riding while eating.

I haven't been able to babywear like I normally due because of Baker's surgery-he can't straddle for a few weeks. We attempted to come up with some way for me to carry him-this was not working very well, but he thought it was fun!

eating a blackberry for the first time. success!

snoozing in Mommy and Daddy's bed

he was so sweet sitting in the front seat with me while we waited for a store to open. side note:why do some stores wait until 10 AM to open?! That's our first nap time since we've usually been up since 6.

first time riding in a cart (because I can't wear him). he thought he was big stuff.

fat little legs standing up! he can actually hold on to something and stand up if I place him there.

Trike a thon and Other Random Things

Trike-a-thon fun at MDO a few weeks ago!

He was ready to ride :)

Sullivan's cheese face kills me!

This one said "mama" a few weeks ago! Since I'm his favorite (true story), it's only fair.

Last Week...

I'm trying to post in a more timely fashion, but we'll see how long that lasts! For now, here's a recap of our last week.

This little boy has gotten to be a pro at sitting up all by himself! And he's so happy...as long as he's being entertained!

We had a little bit of fun with his hair

Fisher was showing me all the"weather" he made with his chalk

a long overdue date night! It was so nice!

trying to get a good picture before church is like pulling teeth these days

wearing his hearing protection

Fisher woke up from his nap last week and just wanted to snuggle for a little bit longer on the couch. I loved every minute of it!

Easter Weekend

We dyed eggs the Saturday before Easter. Our dye didn't work so well, but the boys really enjoyed it! I love this picture of them.

Easter goodies

I attempted to get a good picture or two. It didn't turn out quite like I wanted, but this is our season of life right now!

Checkups, Park Fun, and a Birthday

I forgot to post pictures from Baker's 6 month checkup, so here they are!

He destroyed the paper while we were waiting to see the doctor, but at least he was happy!

Fisher's drawing is improving so much! I love the way he draws his fingers.

We had a great time at Shelby Farms a few weeks ago. The boys loved climbing, and I enjoyed seeing how much more they can do this year.

Our group picture didn't turn out so well

Sullivan loves Baker! He's always touching and squeezing him. Also, he loves to wear his bicycle helmet around the house. I think he's figured out that it's the safest thing to do!

A ride at the park last week!

snack break

The littles enjoyed their ride

I turned 30 last week, and this was my birthday present! I can't wait to hang it up! Also, I'm scared to put the boys handprints on it for fear that I'll mess it up!

My sister made this dessert for my birthday-pavlova. It was divine and so pretty!

Love these boys! I was blessed to be able to have alone time on my birthday and I enjoyed a pedicure and some shopping, but I sure did love sharing my birthday celebration with them! They were very excited that it was my birthday.

Baker is Seven Months Old!

* Baker weighs about 16.5 lbs.
* He wears size 3-6/6-9 month clothes, and he wears size small cloth diapers and size 3 disposable diapers.
*He's definitely a cat napper. He is rotten and won't really sleep unless he's being held, so he really only takes a longer nap in the afternoon while the older boys are sleeping and I get a chance to sit down! He'll nap for a long time in the carrier, too.
*Sleep is slightly better! We finally switched him from rock and play sleeper to the pack and play, and have been putting him to sleep on his belly. He now wakes up 1-4 times a night. Slow progress!
* He's a great nurser and he loves it!
*He's taking a bottle like a champ now! He'll take anywhere from 3-5 ounces at a time while I'm gone. He does start crying and fussing as soon as he sees me when I come home, though.
*His eyes are still blue. They change all the time; sometimes they're more of a gray blue, but they're usually pretty dark.
*His hair has a definite red tint, which I love!
*He sucks on his fingers all the time. This creates a lot of drool!
*Food:he's tried sweet potatoe, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, squash, zuchinni, apples, pear, cuties. I think that's it. He seems to like most everything that he tries!
*He's a master at sitting up unassisted! He has no desire to do anything that resembles crawling, though.
*His second bottom tooth has started to come in, so I can't call him "snaggle" anymore!
*He loves to play with anything the boys bring him, but he especially loves his Sophie giraffe.
*He smiles and coos all the time! He loves to "talk"
*He is ticklish! He laughs so hard when I tickle him! I love seeing the dimple on his cheek pop out when he is smiling big.
*He is so rotten! He loves to be held and lets you know (very loudly) that he doesn't like it when he gets put down.
*He tolerates bath time. He doesn't scream or cry, but he doesn't act like he loves it either!
* The older boys are still madly in love with him! They are always kissing on him and petting him. They want to sit right beside him all the time. it's so very sweet.
