Sick Baby Boy

Fishy is sick :(. He threw up a few times this morning and has been running a fever all day. He has been napping a lot and only wants to be held and snuggle with me. I am not complaining about the snuggle part!

He has still been eating ok but is not interested in playing or being put down for any amount of time. I called in to work tonight, which I NEVER do, because this little boy only wants his mama right now. Please pray that this passes soon and Fisher is back to his normal happy self!!

Merry Christmas!

Here's wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas filled with love, laughter, and lots of special memories. May we all remember the true meaning of Christmas-the birth of our Savior, Jesus!!

Luke 2:1-20

New International Version (NIV)

Luke 2

The Birth of Jesus

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,

and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Graduation!

Last week I FINALLY graduated with my masters in nursing degree! I am so thankful to be finished, and even more thankful to the family and friends that supported me and helped me throughout the past few years. It has definately been a challenge-working full time, going to school full time, and having a baby, but it has paid off! Now all I have to do is pass boards, but I'll worry about that later!!

And you might be wondering why my child has nothing but a diaper on his bottom half. He was wearing a very cute outfit, but had his diaper on for too long and peed on it. His Yaya had left his change of clothes in the car, so Fisher was naked from the waist down. He was still the cutest person there, though! :)

Half Birthdays Are Sweet!

Fisher celebrated turning 6 months old last week. That means-half birthday! I am a big fan of half birthdays, even though most people aren't. So I wanted to make his first half birthday special. What did we do? He ate sweet potatoes for the first time, although I'm not convinced he thought it was so great. We also got him a little present-a fun Noah's Ark book!

We are so thankful that God has blessed us with these past 6 months with Fisher, and we can't wait to celebrate many more half birthdays with him!!

Squash It!

Fisher tried squash for the first time yesterday, and he ate it up! I was a little worried that he just wasn't interested in baby food because of the way he acted towards sweet potatoes, but now I think it's because he doesn't like sweet potatoes! He was loving his squash!!

Fisher is 6 Months Old!

*Fisher weighs  16.4 pounds (he's dropped a little less than the 50th percentile, so we'll go back in a month for a weight check), is 27 inches long (75th percentile), and his head is 17 inches (25-50th percentile).

*He wears cloth diapers  and 3-6 month outfits.

*He can roll over!! He has been able to roll from front to back for a few months, but just started rolling from back to front the day before he turned 6 months old.

*He's sleeping in his bed every night

*Breastfeeding every 2.5-3.5 hours (when he takes a bottle, it's usually 5-8 ounces). He's back to sleeping through the night again! He will wake up anywhere from 2-5 and "talk" for a little while, but he goes back to sleep until 6-7. Then, he'll nurse and usually go back to sleep for a few more hours. I want to work on getting him to bed earlier; right now he doesn't go to sleep until 830-930.

* He has now tried oatmeal, cereal, and sweet potatoes. He's not the biggest fan of any of them. yet.

*LOVES to be outside! He can be screaming his head off, and will instantly be quiet when you step outside. He also is loving the dogs right now. He loves to sit on Lenny and grab her ears. He also loves it when the dogs "attack" him-we'll chase them around and when they turn and jump up in the air, he laughs so hard!

*He is smiling, laughing, and cooing all of the time! He's a talker! :)

*He loves to be in his jumperoo or his Johnny Jump up.

*Loves to be held

*He chews on his fingers a lot. He's not sucking his thumb as often, but he'll still do it occasionally.

*Loves bath time and loves to kick and splash

* He has two teeth! He has both of his bottom front teeth.

*Nicknames:  Budders, Fish, Fisher-man, Fishy, Tooters

Happy 6 months Fisher!!!
