Driver in Training

Fisher helped Daddy back the car in the garage on Monday. He loved it! I think someone is going to like driving, just like his Daddy. :)

And to think I'll be taking pictures just like this in about 15 years...

Memorial Day Fun

We had a wonderful holiday! We ate ribs and homemade ice cream at my grandparent's house. It was so nice to relax and enjoy being with family.

The babies got in some good playtime. :)

Houdini

Fisher is becoming quite the little daredevil. I'm having to keep an even sharper set of eyes on him than I normally do.

Case in point-I was on the computer at my mom's and Fisher was in the kitchen with her while she unloaded the dishwasher. She turned around to put something up and...

He was so proud! :) I think I'm in for a crazy ride with this little boy!

Dirty Boy

Fisher and I played outside on Monday. Being a boy, he managed to find the only dirt in the backyard. I think boys have a sixth sense about dirt and mud! He had a great time playing in (and eating!) the dirt.

His bathtub still has dirt in it from my attempt to get him clean!! All worth it in the name of fun, though! :)

Sunday Best

Fisher got to wear his new watermelon Jon-Jon to church Sunday. I got it from Zulily a while ago. This child does not sit still long enough for pictures anymore, but I still think he's pretty cute! :)

Busy Bee

We have had a great week! I'm tired at the end of each day, but it looks like I haven't done anything!! Keeping up with this little boy wears me out, but we have so much fun!

Tuesday, we had dinner with some wonderful friends from nursing school. We kept each other sane! Fisher was filthy from crawling around outside, so he ended up in his diaper :)

Wednesday, I got to watch Fisher, Asher, and Pops (who was drugged from shoulder surgery) while Mom went to a doctor's appointment with Memaw. I thought twins sounded fun-I was so tired after I was finished watching these two boys!!

Fisher wanted Pops to pick him up, but didn't understand that he couldn't :(

After we got home, I made strawberry jam from the berries we picked the week before. Yum!

We played outside a lot. What, you didn't know drain spouts were so entertaining??

We also made a trip to Home Depot with Daddy.

Rasberries...

We had a great week, even if I do always look back and wonder where the time went...

Fisher is 11 Months Old!

*Fisher weighs around 20 lbs ( He was 19 lbs 10 oz at the doctor's office a few weeks ago).

*He wears cloth diapers and 6-9/6-12 month outfits, depending on the brand.

*He is crawling! Fisher is in to EVERYTHING!! His favorite things to play with are the dog bowls, all cords and outlets, and picture frames that are lower to the ground. He also tries to play in the dog's water bowl. so gross. Fisher has two different ways of crawling-on carpet/soft surfaces, he'll crawl "correctly" (both knees); on harder surfaces, he does a "broken leg" crawl. He is pulling up on everything these days. He's not cruising yet, but I don't think it's very far away.

* He's eating everything we eat. He really likes poppyseed chicken casserole right now. A typical day in food for him consists of oatmeal and banana/avocado/yogurt for breakfast, avocado/yogurt (depending on whether he's had it already that day) and a grilled cheese (shared by Mommy) for lunch, and dinner is whatever we're eating. He likes to snack on organic puffs and veggie straws. He's not too fond of blueberries and strawberries at the moment-they seem to be really sour to him. He does not like drinking out of a sippy cup, but will take sips of water out my glass/bottle all day long.

*He still loves to be outside. We go on wagon rides or I push him in the jogging stroller most days.

*He's sleeping in his bed every night. He still flips and flops all over the bed. When he wakes up in the morning, he will sit up in his crib and clap. It is so cute to watch on the baby monitor. :) Since he's started getting up on his knees, his mattress has been lowered.

* He is loving books right now, which makes this momma very happy! We read multiple books several times a day, and we always read a book before prayers and bedtime.

*Breastfeeding about every 3 hours (when he takes a bottle, it's usually 6-9 ounces). He's back to waking up 2-3 times a night, but still sleeping until around 9 most mornings.

*He's talking! He says "DaDa" and "MaMa". DaDa is still his main word. He hasn't said MaMa in forever. :( He will say "bath", "bye", "Uh Oh", something that sounds like "Duchess" (our dog), and I've been working on "Yaya" (he's close!).

* He loves to clap and pay Patty Cake. He will lift up his arms if he wants to be picked up. He will give hi fives and wave goodbye or hello (sometimes on command, sometimes spontaneously).

*He loves to play in the floor with his toys. His favorite toy at home is his big red boucy ball and his big yellow balloon. His favorite toy at his Yaya's is a red plastic spoon. His other favorite "toy" is the dogs. He is always looking at them wanting to see what they're doing and where they are. This is not fun at mealtimes when I'm trying to get him to eat, but is really cute the rest of the time. Lenny still only tolerates him, but Duchess loves Fisher! She will try to lick his face (so gross. We try to avoid that!), and is so good about letting him grab her tail and ears.

*He is giving "kisses" now. He gives great big open mouth slobbery kisses. He'll sometimes do it when you ask him to, but mostly it's just because he feels like it. :)

*He is very attached to his lovie. He drapes it over his face when he sleeps, chews on its head, and talks to it. He now wants to have it when he's not in his crib. We now have two more lovies-one stays at Yaya's and one is for the car. :)

*He is still very much into sucking his thumb. When he's tired he sucks his left thumb and rubs his face with his lovie in his right hand.

*Loves bath time and loves to kick and splash. He also loves taking a shower now, too. As the weatehr has gotten warmer, his love of water has translated into loving pool time, too.

* He has eight teeth! He has four on the bottom and four on the top. He's got a few more coming in, but they haven't broken through the skin yet.
*He LOVES to push things around! He's got a toy train in his room that he will push everywhere. He also pushes his toy cars around his room, too. He loves to spin the wheels.

*Nicknames: Budders, Fish, Fisher-man, Fishy, Tooters, Bubs, Bubba (I have no idea where this came from. It just slips out sometimes!).

Happy 11 months Fisher!!!

Personal Pool

One of my sweet friends at work was gracious enough to let Fisher use a baby pool that her daughter has outgrown. I just got it last weekend, and we set it up Monday. I think Fisher is going to have so much fun playing in his own pool!

The water seemed to be a little cold for him at first, but as he got used to it he was splashing all around. I forsee many summer days spent in the pool!

he loves to lean over the edge and touch the ground

sometimes he actually makes it out of the pool :)

trying to get back in

I love my pool!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all the mothers and mothers-to-be had a wonderful day yesterday! Isn't it great to have an entire day dedicated to celebrating moms? :) I had a wonderful first Mother's Day thanks to my two guys.

I worked Saturday night, and came home Sunday morning to a very cute singing card that Fisher got me. I got to wake my sweet boy up and get some snuggles in with him before he nursed. I got him ready to go to church, and then he and Daddy were out the door.

I went to sleep, woke up that afternoon, and spent some more time with Fisher and Nellie before I had to go back to work Sunday night. So, maybe not the most conventional Mother's Day, but that's ok.

And my gift? A countershop and shelving in my laundry area! I am so excited! I have been wanting some more storage space there for a while, and now it will finally happen! Hopefully soon...

And here's a picture of Mommy and Fisher before he goes to church and I go to bed. I am so thankful for this precious boy and his daddy-I wouldn't be able to celebrate this special day without them. :) In my opinion, every day is Mother's Day for me thanks to Fishy.

Strawberry Picking and Pool Party

Friday, Fisher and I went strawberry picking with Brittanie and Tucker. We went out to a pick your own strawberry farm in Whiteville, TN, at a place called Byler's Berries. While they're not certified organic, they do use natural growing practices.

We had so much fun! The berries weren't as plentiful as we thought they would be, so we had to do a little bit of searching to find them. On the plus side, they were selling the strawberries for a discounted price since there weren't as many of them. We also had to deal with two little boys who needed naps and lunch. :)

We picked berries for a while and then broke for a picnic lunch. After that, we picked berries until the tantrums started. :)
Brittanie and Tucker are ready to go!

ready to start picking!

Tucker was such a big helper!

After napping on the car ride back to Brittanie's, it was time for a pool party! Tucker was a little hesitant about the water, but Fisher loved it! Even after he had a surprise dunking (whoops!), he was still all about the water. Tucker loved walking all around the pool, playing with the water hose, and climbing in and out of the pool.

Fisher and I had a blast hanging out with Brittanie and Tucker! We can't wait to do it again soon!
