Toes in the Sand...

I'll be taking a bit of a blogging break because I'll be sitting on the beach in Panama City for a whole week. That's right, I'm not planning on doing anything except soaking up the sun, reading books, spending time with my family, and resting. After all, this is probably the last stress free, don't have to worry about anything vacation I'll have in a long time!

I'm thoroughly looking forward to my week on the beach, making lots of memories with my sweet family. We'll have a house full; there will be around 15-20 people there at any given time. And I love the thought of it! DOn't worry, I'll take lots of pictures to show you when we get back! I hope everyone has a great week; I know I will!!

Just a few of the views I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot of over the next week...

34 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 34 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby Nelson is the size of a large cantaloupe

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I have no idea-I don't weigh myself and I don't look when I go to the doctor-ha!!

Maternity Clothes: I wear all maternity pants, but am still able to mix in some regular shirts and dresses.

Gender: We won't know until the baby gets here! I feel like it's a girl, Hubs thinks boy. I guess we'll see soon enough!

Movement: Baby loves to move!

Sleep: Ever since I got my Snoogle body pillow, sleeping has been great!! Not having to get up as much during the night, which is nice.

What I miss: Getting a full night's sleep without having to get up to go to the bathroom, being able to easily bend over! I'm also getting more uncomfortable in general.

Cravings: Fruit, cereal (Lucky Charms and Honey Nut Cheerios)-everything!

Symptoms: Heartburn-it's getting worse! Hoping this means lots of hair!! :) I've started having some round ligament pain, but it's not terrible.

Best Moment this week: Good report at the OB, baby's heart rate was in the 130s, and having a wonderful baby shower with work friends. And finally starting to paint the nursery!

Way to Go, LeBonheur!

LeBonheur Children's Hospital, the best place to work (I may be a bit biased), was named to the U.S. News and World Report's Best Children's Hospitals list. What an honor! This was the first time that LeBonheur made this list. Four of the specialties that are offered here were recognized for their excellence. Neurology and neurosurgery ranked 25th, orthopedics ranked 32nd, nephrology ranked 37th, and cardiology and heart surgery ranked 46th. These rankings are out of the top 50 children's hospitals in several different specialties.

It's so exciting to be working for a hospital that is recognized for their hard work, dedication, and excellence in their different fields! I love my job, and it's such an honor for LeBonheur to be recognized!

If you want to read the rankings, you can go here. If you want to read LeBonheur's response to the honor, you can go here.

Way to go, LeBonheur!!

Surprise Baby Shower!

Last night was our trytobemonthlybutdoesn'talwayshappen get together with my wonderful friends from nursing school. We started school together, laughed, cried, and made lots of memories along the way. We still try to get together as often as we can, but with crazy nursing work schedules, it doesn't always happen. Most of us even work together at the same hospital! Last night, my friends were sweet enough to throw me and Baby Nelson a surprise shower! I am so ready for this baby to meet all of these people who already love him/her!! BTW, excuse the picture quality-I didn't have my camera, so my terrible iphone camera had to work!

yummy fruit

can you tell someone already started snacking??!
presents!
Boppy from Kristi! And she gave us the cutest cover for it!

blankets and onsies from Mon, Em, and Anna

Play mat from MEA!

Tiger onsies and thermometer from Mark and Lynda!
I took a better picture of the presents when I got home. Isn't the puppy dog boppy cover the cutest?!

We didn't manage to get a picture together last night. This is one of my favorite pictures of all of us from our nursing trips to the Dominican Republic. Anna, Lynda, Mark, Kristi, me, then Monica and Emily in the front. Love these guys!!
I felt so loved and blessed last night!! Love love love hanging out with dear friends and catching up-never seems like we have enough hours to do it all!

And They Just Keep Coming...

The gifts, that is! It has been a wonderful week at the Nelson house. We've gotten a package just about every day filled with goodies for our baby! It is so much fun to see what we've been gifted with! And now, some of our recent arrivals...

Looks like a very boring package, right?

Wrong! It's cute cloth diapers from Sunbabies!!

Adorable!

Can't wait to see a cute little baby bottom in these!

This is from Anne, Hub's cousin in Colorado. We got bibs, a boppy cover, and a changing pad sheet. Thanks, Anne!

Our highchair! Why can't anything come put together??

What it will eventually look like!
I know I say it all the time, but we are so blessed by our friends and family! We love you all!!

Crawfish Plus Gifts Equals...

A fabulous baby shower! We had our baby shower today with our Sunday School class. We've been with this class since before we were married, and really enjoy spending time with them. We had a blast today, even if some of us didn't eat any crawfish or participate in the food fight! :) We are so thankful for these sweet friends who are celebrating with us! And now, the pictures...

Do you think we had enough crawfish? And this wasn't even all of it!
Our yummy cake!
The men eating...

The kids playing...

The ladies chatting...
The softest and cutest blanket ever!

Yay for rubber duckies, soap, and fun towels!

The Frog Pad! It attaches to the bathtub wall and you can scoop up all the toys and stick them on the wall. Pretty cool, huh??

Diaper pail...we'll use that for sure!
Hubs and Conner
Me and baby daddy :)
We had such a wonderful time and enjoyed making more memories with our friends! We can't wait for Baby Nelson to meet all of these people who love him/her already!
