Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! We celebrated with almost 40 people crammed into my grandparent's house. Thankfully it was nice outside, so the kids could run around and blow off some of their energy. This time of year is always my favorite because of the amount of togetherness I get to spend with my sweet family! I am so thankful for all of them!

Fisher is 17 Months Old!

*Fisher weighs 21 lbs, 2 oz (per the scale at the surgery center)

*He wears cloth diapers (size 3 in a disposable) and 9-12/6-12 month outfits, depending on the brand. He can wear 18 month long alls and some 12-18 month shirts. He wears a 4.5 or size 5 shoe.

*He walks/runs everywhere now. He loves it when he gets chased around.

*He is a climber! Stairs, chairs, you name it, he climbs it!

* He still has a great appetite. Most of the time, he is very willing to try whatever I give him. His current favorites are oatmeal, bananas, and cheese. He is a sippy cup pro!

*He still loves to be outside. We play outside every day when it's not too cold.

*He loves kicking balls. He's gotten really good at dribbling with his feet-soccer star in the making!

*He's sleeping in his bed every night. He still flips and flops all over the bed. He will stand up in the bed when he wants to get out. He's also gnawed on his crib rails.

* He is obsessed with books! He has about 5 favorites that he will bring to me and want me to read over and over (and over) again. My limit is 5 times before I tell him to get a new book. :)

* He drinks water during the day and organic whole milk at bedtime. He refuses to drink milk during the day in his sippy cup, but will drink it at YaYa's. He drinks about 5-9 ounces at bedtime, and if he wakes up during the night, he may drink 3-5 more ounces.
* He goes to bed between 830 and 930, and wakes up around that same time in the morning. If he wakes up at night, it's usually between 3-5. If he wakes up in the middle of the night, he's up for 1-3 hours. :(
* Fishy is mostly down to one nap a day. He decided that all by himiself. He is normally up for about 2-3 hours, then he goes down for a nap for roughly 1.5-2.5 hours. Occasionally, he will take two naps, but only if his first nap is about an hour long.

*His vocabulary is really developing. His favorite word is "Abby". Other words include DaDa/Daddy, Mama/Mommy, cracker, duck, dog, Duchess, outside, choo-choo, bath, how do, tractor ,ball, light, hot, helicoptor (I promise he says it!), book, poo poo (not when he has it in his diaper, though), baby, doctor, teeth (which comes out like "tee"), cheese, bubbles, bottle ("bobble" sometimes), sock, shoes, Asher, YaYa, Pops, Jodie, Allie/Chevy/Covey/Sunny (my parents' dogs), go, no, bird, moon (and he can point it out to you), star, cookie (which he only knows about because they're mentioned in books we read) and diaper (which he says "biper" sometimes). His words are hit or miss-sometimes he'll say them, sometimes not. He will sign "all done" back to me (his version is waving his hands around).

*He is recognizing animals and their sounds. He can do cow/moo, duck/quack quack (which he says kack-kack), cat/meow (he says mow), snake/sssssss, dog/woof woof. He also recognizes horse, frog, chicken, bird, mouse, goat, sheep and pig. He'll point them out but he won't say their sound yet.

*He loves to play in the floor with his toys. He loves anything with wheels; he likes to push his toys across the floor. He loves pens and pretending to write. He also loves playing with Daddy's old wallet and cards.

*He is very loving. He loves to give hugs and lay on you.

*He will blow kisses. He will also do the "shhhh" motion with his mouth and finger. He will say "hot" and blow on his food to cool it off.

*He is still attached to lovie at the hip. He likes to pull her out of the crib and carry her around. When I ask him to get his lovie, he will go get her. When I tell him that lovie wants to stay in the bed and go night night, he throws her back in the crib. Lovie that belongs in the car now comes inside and is the downstairs lovie. He drags her everywhere!

*He is still very much into sucking his thumb. When he's tired he sucks his left thumb and rubs his face with his lovie in his right hand.

*He is getting better at object recognition. When you ask him to point to your nose/mouth/ears/eyes/tongue/teeth , he can-he's the best at nose and ears, though. When asked where his hair is, he'll pat his head. When you ask where is his hand is, he'll raise it in the air. He can point out his belly button-I think he's confused that with baby, though. I'll ask him where Mama's baby is, and he lifts up his shirt and points at his belly button. Or he points at himself. He will also get his book, ball, lovie, tractor when asked. He will also get a specific book when asked. He loves putting on his socks and shoes.

*Still loves taking a shower.
*He has become very cautious about going to different places. When we go to my grandparents (which is all the time), he doesn't want to walk very far into the room for a while. He has to scope the place and all the people out first.
*He likes to grab my phone and say "cheese". :)

*He loves to help throw clothes, mainly socks, in the dryer. He's such a good helper. :)

* He has sixteen teeth! He has eight on the bottom and eight on the top. He has his top and bottom molars on both sides. I have no idea if he has more because he won't let me look, but I don't think he's been teething lately.

*Nicknames: Fishy, Bubs, Bubba, Bubby, Baby, Buddy, Fisher-man, love

Pumpkin Patch Fun

My mom, sister, and I took Fisher and Asher to Priddy Farms in Arlington a month ago ( I am so behind!) to pick out a pumpkin and take some fall pictures in their overalls. I am finally getting around to posting them-sorry! We had so much fun, but the boys could not have cared any less about the pumpkins. They were all about the tractors that were there! Silly boys... Warning, picture overload coming! There's just something about cute boys in overalls...

Glad That Day is Over

Yesterday was a long day. Fisher had surgery again; it was a followup to his surgery in February that turned into a much more extensive repair than we thought. We were at the surgery center bright and early Wednesday morning!

After over 2 hours in surgery, we finally got to see our little man. He was not a happy camper!

Finally, we got to head home around lunch time.

Our afternoon didn't get any better. Fisher would alternate between sleeping and screaming.

We ended up in the ED due to some stridor that he had because of being intubated during surgery. Thankfully, it wasn't too painful of a process since I work at the same hospital and have some great friends who took care of us! Fishy felt so bad, though.

YaYa and Pops stopped by. Fisher finally wore himself out and fell asleep.

We got home after 8, and Fisher was so much better! He finally ate for the first time all day. He had a great night, too. He's back to being almost his normal self this morning!

We're so thankful for God's provision throughout our entire day yesterday! Please continue to pray for healing and minimal pain for Fisher throughout his recovery!

I Spy a Spine

My little buddy went to the chiro with me today. He was fascinated by the plastic spine in the exam room!
