I recently discovered Pinterest. I'm probably behind the times with that, but that's how I roll. I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest. If you haven't heard of it, I'm not the person to describe it to you because I'm bad at stuff like that. In the words of the people who made up Pinterest, it's
"Pinterest is a virtual pinboard. Pinterest allows you to organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. You can browse pinboards created by other people to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.
People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and share their favorite recipes."
My two beefs about this website: anyone can see what you "pin". Not that I post anything bad, but what if I want some things private? Not an option. Second, if you repin something, you automatically start "following" that person's pins, even if you have no idea who they are.
I guess I just want more privacy and more selectiveness in determining who I want to follow. Other than that, I think Pinterest is a fabulous thing. Look it up-it's kind of addicting!!

"You is kind, you is smart, you is important"
Words to live by! Lots of people may recognize this quote from the new movie, "The Help". I actually had the chance to go see this movie (in the THEATER, people) a few weeks ago. It was sooooo good!
I had read the book a few months ago, and LOVED it. I was anxious to see if the movie would live up to the book. Did it? Well, no, but I can't think of a single movie that's been based on a book that has. Just my personal opinion. I realize that they couldn't put everything that was in the book in the movie, or it would be 10 years long. That being said, the movie was still very very good, but I highly recommend that you still read the book. So much better.
Go see this movie! But read the book too!! :)

iFisher
I don't have the opportunity to have my camera out a lot during the week to capture a moment when Fisher is being cute (which is a lot!), so I have to depend on my iphone. Hence, the title iFisher (clever, huh?). Here's our week in review, via pictures, which are way cuter than any words! :)
looking like he's army crawling, but really we're just having tummy time |
yes, he did fall asleep like this while we were outside |

Bumbo Time!
I sat Fisher in his bumbo for the first time this week. He loved it!! He was smiling and waving his arms all around-too cute!! We're still working on his head control, so he's a little bit of a weeble wobble in these pictures. I only had my phone, so excuse the quality. But, Fisher's cute no matter how bad the camera is!!
my mom said he looked like he was riding a bronco! ha! |

Two Month Checkup
Fisher went to see Dr. Catherine today for his two month checkup and got his first set of shots. :( He did so good!! He cried, but not for very long. His mama only teared up when he got his shots! :) She said everything looks great and he's right on track!
His measurements:
Head: 15 inches (around 25th percentile-I think)
Weight: 11 lbs 8 oz (around 50th percentile)
Length: 22 3/4 inches (around 50th percentile)
Fisher was such a trooper! He showed Dr. Catherine how big and strong he is getting and we worked on a plan for getting him to sleep longer at night. I'll need lots of prayers for that one.... :)

Fisher is Two Months Old!
I have a feeling I'll always be saying this, but I can't believe how fast Fisher is growing!!
Fisher weighs 11 lbs 8 oz and is 22 3/4 inches long
*He wears cloth diapers and 0-3 month outfits. He can still fit into a few newborn clothes, but that's very brand specific
*He's sleeping in his bed every night
*Breastfeeding every 1.5-3 hours, and he makes it 2.5-3 hours between feedings at night
*LOVES to be outside! He can be screaming his head off, and will instantly be quiet when you step outside
*He has started to smile and coo
*Will lay on his play mat, but only when the music is playing.
*Loves to sleep on your chest or in your arms
*He will still take his pacifier, but doesn't use it all the time
*Loves bath time and has recently started to kick and splash in his whale tub
*Nicknames: Peanut, Budders, Monkey, Fish, Fisher-man, Fishy, Tooters
Happy 2 months Fisher!!!

Golly Dolly!
Ever since I found out about the Imagination Library program started by Dolly Parton, I have been so excited for Fisher to be a part of it. First of all, who doesn't love Dolly? She is a great singer, has an awesome amusement park, and she's just fun-big hair, bigger boobs, and those crazy outfits!!
Anyways, with the Imagination Library, every child that signs up in Tennessee is sent one FREE book per month until the age of 5. First of all, it's FREE! Second, the child gets age appropriate books until the age of 5-if you sign up at birth, that's 70+ books! As a book lover (some might say obsessed), this program could not be any better!!
Fisher finally got his first book in the mail this week! So much fun! As he gets older, I know he will love getting something in the mail sent just to him. The first book all the kids get is "The Little Engine That Could"-love this book! Every book after that is geared towards their age. I can't wait to read these books with Fisher and hopefully he will learn to love books as much as I do.
I love this program, and anyone can sign up that lives in Tennessee. You can go here to learn more about it, enroll your child, or donate. Do it-it's worth it!!

Really, this is what he was doing most of the time. But it's all about that one good shot, right?? :) |
Happy Birthday, Dad!
Hubs celebrated his birthday this past Thursday. He turned the big 31. Fisher was so excited to give his daddy a birthday card just from him!! We are both so thankful to have this wonderful man in our lives, and couldn't ask for a better husband and father. We love you!!

Laundry Daze....
Like I've mentioned before, Fisher is wearing cloth diapers. I wash a load about every other day, and let them air dry. I've been letting them dry on the kitchen table, which is not ideal. My mom gave me some clothsline and pins, and I fashioned myself a clothsline on the fence in the backyard. I love looking outside and seeing all the cute little diapers blowing in the wind! Not to mention, I love not having to dry them in the dryer and save on our electricity bill!! Another benfit-the sun helps get stains out, and leaves the diapers smelling sunshine fresh! You can't buy that smell!!
My clothsline! :) |

F-I-S-H-E-R
Fisher got a very special present in the mail a few weeks ago. He got a personalized stool with his name on it from his Gama Carol. It is very cute and will be a really good tool in helping him learn his name! Plus, the letters come out, so that will be fun for him to tump them over. :)
Fisher says "thanks Gama!".
sitting up! ok, propped up...:) |

Sleep Deprived
Since birth, Fisher has not slept longer than 3.5 hours at a time. There was a one time 4 hour stretch, but I think it was a fluke. His norm seems to be 2.5-3 hours at a time. This is fine during the day, but a little bit wearing on me at night. Last night I decided to let him sleep in his crib and I would sleep in a different room, hoping that him not smelling me and/or my milk might help him sleep a little bit longer. He's been sleeping in his swing right next to our bed, since he refuses to sleep in the pack and play (which if you'll remember, I had to get from CANADA for him! Can we say ungrateful?).
How successful was this plan? miserable. failure. The longest he slept was 2 hours, and it took me so long to get him back to sleep after nursing, which I normally don't have to do at all. sigh. We'll keep trying, though! I mean, he can't keep this up forever...right??

A Whale of a Good Time
Fisher took his first non-sink bath tonight in his whale bathtub. He loves bathtime, so he really enjoyed sitting in his tub and I enjoyed playing with him and having both hands free. Then, we had a cute diaper and pj photo shoot. Enjoy!

The Austrian Moose
Fisher's Auntie Loo (my best friend Lauren) just returned from a 15 day jaunt across Europe. Jealous, much?? I know I am... Anyways, being the wonderful aunt that she is, she got Fisher a little happy. She came over last week to give him his first present from abroad. I present to you, the Austrian moose socks!
