Sully Smiles

Brother Bear is sooo smiley lately! I love seeing all those sweet expressions and hearing his precious coos. He is also doing so well with tummy time (when he gets it-Fisher is a fan of laying on him) and holding his head up. My strong boy!!

Strawberries

Fisher went with my mom to pick up some farm fresh produce this weekend. While they were there, they did a little strawberry picking. I'm going to take a guess and say he loved it!!

Fisher is 23 Months Old!

Mercy, how do I have an almost 2 year old already?!

he wanted to "read Bible story"

*Fisher weighs 25-26ish lbs (I'm guessing).

*He wears cloth diapers (size 4 in a disposable) and 12-18 month outfits. He wears a size 5-6 shoe.

* He still has a great appetite. His current favorite foods are yogurt, grapes, and strawberries.

*He still loves reading books all of the time.

* He is drinking water and milk during the day, but mostly water.
* He goes to bed between 900 and 930, and wakes up around 800-900in the morning..

* He is napping so much better now! I'm glad his phase of not wanting to take one didn't last for very long. He only naps 1-2 hours.
*His vocabulary has taken off! He is talking in sentences/phrases now- "Mommy feed brother right now...boob" :), "brother watching you (which means brother's watching me), "no jumping couch", etc. It is so fun to be able to communicate so clearly (most of the time) with him.

* he is starting to sing. Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star are some of his favorites. Lyrics go something like "Itsy Spider, sun out, dry rain, Itsy Spider" complete with some hand motions, and "twinkle star, high, diamond sky". Too cute!
*He loves to give Eskimo kisses ("esko kiss")
*He is getting very good at his colors-he knows yellow, red, blue, green, black, and white. He's getting more consistent at naming them correctly all of the time instead of initially calling everything yellow.
*He loves, loves, loves his monster trucks, and making them jump/flip/do wheelies. That, and being outside are his current favorites.
*He likes to do his "snaps" (buckle) when he gets in his carseat. He is also obsessed with his booboos. They are categorized - "lil booboo" and "big booboo".
*He loves to hold his brother! "Hold it" as he says when he wants to hold Sullivan. He is also very concerned when Sullivan cries, gets his diaper changes, or is eating (he says "feed Sully").
*Lovie ("Lully") is still very much a constant attachment, and so is his thumb in his mouth when he's tired.
*He's got most of his body parts down pat.

*Still loves taking a shower.

*Nicknames: Fishy, Bubba, Bubby, Baby, Buddy, Bug, love

Potty Training Time?!

No, I don't think we're quite there yet. But, we talk about it a lot, and I think Fisher has picked up some of the finer points of our conversations. :)

We recently moved the dogs' water bowl outside, so fisher now has easier access to it than before. Now he likes to do this:

Yes, he's sitting in the water bowl, completely clothed.

So, I took off his clothes because they were soaking wet. He went streaking.

And then he preceded to sit back in the water bowl and say "sit on potty" repeatedly. Oh my...

Peanut Butter!

Fisher had his first peanut butter sandwich this week. He loved it! He opened up his sandwich and was just scooping up the peanut butter and licking it off his fingers. I'm so glad he likes one of my favorite things!!

Reasons Why I Love Baking Soda

Random, but so true! Baking soda has a lot of great qualities, and I don't just mean in cooking!
I use baking soda in a homemade facial scrub, and I recently tried out a baking soda paste to clean the inside glass on my oven door.
Confession: We've lived in our house for over 3 years, and I've never cleaned my oven. Gross, I know. But, I can't say that anymore, because that joker is clean now!! But, on to my project.
Door before cleaning:

It's hard to tell, but it's nasty-trust me!
I made a paste with half a cup of baking soda and added water until it made a thin/slight runny consistency.

Then, I spread it on the door and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Time to see if it worked!

It didn't. So, I let it sit for an additional 10 minutes before I tried scrubbing again. After a 25 minutes wait, I started scrubbing. Success!

Clean as a whistle. My oven dour has never looked better! And that's one if the reasons why I live baking soda! :)
Another comparison shot of the before and after:
